PA HOLDS the FIRST “TURNILYO” ARTISAN HOMECOMING
A DAY to remember to the people who contributed a lot
to the continuous legacy of the official publication of Technological University of the Philippines – The Philippine Artisan.
The first ever held “Turnilyo” (turning back to Turno) of the official student publication -- The Philippine Artisan was indeed a success. Actually second alumni homecoming, the first ever alumni
was held somewhat in 1980’s.
A band of invited alumni came. The power point presentation of the continuing legacy presented at the AVR reminded
the alumni of their past experiences in the publication. A short story was followed narrated by Junior Staff Writer.
An open forum with the present Editor- In- Chief Aleksandre
A. Pates capped the AVR presentation.
Alumni happily reminisce their college journ days at the office of Artisan as they looked at the past issues of the
publication prepared by the PA family.
Candle and cauldron lighting of the alumni together with the Artisan family signifies the pure and burning passion
of press freedom every now and then.
After dinner, the Associate Editor, Edlee S. Tusi, initiated a short ceremony, returning an old tradition of the Philippine
Artisan, the “symbolic turnover of the axe”.
“Dapat Managing Editor ang may hawak nito, kase nasa kanya ang pera ng publication”, an alumnus quipped
during the turnover ceremony.
The night was filled with joy and excitement as the alumni of the Philippine Artisan reunite once again.
